Three Mile Rail Trail right around the corner

Exciting news from the most recent rail committee meeting: the DNCR Bureau of Trails has announced they will fully fund an 8-foot-wide, fully ADA-accessible walking path from Moultonville Road to Route 16 on the east side of the tracks. The work will be completed by the DNCR Bureau of Trails. This is the first step in a long-term plan for the full 21 miles.
This milestone would not have been possible without State Representative and Chairman of the Board of Selectmen Jonathan Smith, who sponsored the initial bill, along with Senator Mark McConkey and Executive Councilor Joe Kenney. We also want to recognize the countless hours of testimony and volunteer time provided by groups such as Friends of Ossipee Rail Trail (FORT) and the Ossipee Economic Development Committee and numerous other individuals.
