Our State Representative Jonathan Smith, who is also the Chairman of our Select Board, has submitted an amendment to his bill in the House of Representatives in Concord. Please see the attached pdf.

The purpose of this bill as amended is to formulate a plan for the best public use of the railbed between Moultonville Rd in Center Ossipee to the crossing of Route 113 in Madison (approx. 10 miles) and to explore the feasibility of snowmobiling, walking, and biking on the existing rail corridor.

The bill as amended has passed the full House of Representatives and will go to the State Senate next . Please continue sending emails and letters of support. The passage of this bill could not have happened without the diligent support of Representative Mark McConkey, Carroll County District 8 who is also a co-sponsor.

If you haven’t already, please send emails or letters of support to the Town Administrator at msawyer@ossipee.org and be sure to include your name and contact information. Please stay tuned for future updates.
